Graham Thompson Moves: Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

January 12, 2014

On January 18, 2014, Nassau will host the 3rd Annual Komen Bahamas Race for the Cure®, a 5 kilometer race that raises funds for breast cancer research and support services.  The “Graham Thompson MOVES” team is preparing for this international event by participating in the historic “Bay Street Mile” road race scheduled for November 9, 2013.

During last January’s race, the Graham Thompson MOVES team comprised 24 members including Partners, Associates and Staff.  The five kilometer race started at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church; participants then headed over the Sir Sidney Poitier Bridge to Ocean Club Estates and finished west of Atlantis’ Royal Towers.   Several members of our team proved their earnest commitment by placing in the top of their respective age groups.

Graham Thompson pledges to continue its dedication and support to fighting breast cancer, a disease which affects thousands of Bahamian women each year.

It is also with great pride that we acknowledge Willie A. Moss, a Partner in the Freeport Office, who continues to be a driving force behind the growing event, as former Honorary Chairperson for the Bahamian chapter of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and survivor.

This particular event is very dear to our hearts as we have had four of our own battle breast cancer, three of whom survived and one who sadly lost the fight; she will not be forgotten.
