Leonard Whan Appointed Partner

Graham Thompson is delighted to announce the appointment of Leonard E. Whan as a new Partner in the Firm.   Leonard has been a prominent member of the Firm’s Banking & Finance and Corporate & Commercial Practice Groups, since joining the firm’s Nassau offices in 2012.  The IFLR 1000, The Guide to the World’s Leading Financial Law Firms, recently nominated him as a “Rising Star” for his work in the Bahamas banking industry.

Leonard has developed a high level of expertise assisting major domestic and international entities with a wide range of banking, financial,  commercial  and regulatory matters.   He regularly assists domestic and international clients with applications, filings and compliance in relation to the Bahamas Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of The Bahamas, the Bahamas Investment Authority, and the Securities Commission.

Leonard earned his LL.M. at the University of Miami and received his J.D. from the Mercer University School of Law.  Prior to joining Graham Thomson,  Leonard worked as in-house counsel for a regional financial institution in the United States.
