TOP RANKED AGAIN: HNW OFFSHORE TRUSTS SECTOR

Nassau, The Bahamas – Top ranked once again, the law firm of GrahamThompson received the Chambers and Partners highest “Band 1” ranking, in the 2021 High Net Worth (HNW) Offshore Trusts Sector. GrahamThompson has received the top award every year since the 2017 introduction of this HNW industry honour. The prestigious London-based ranking agency lauds GrahamThompson as a “premier practice” in The Bahamas, noted “for its expertise in foundations, wills and estates”.

The firm’s 2021 top global ranking is highlighted by individual attorney recognitions for Sean McWeeney, QC, Tanya Hanna and Ryan Pinder.

Sean McWeeney, QC, a Senior Partner and Chair of the Firm’s Financial Services, Private Client, Trusts and Estates Practice Group receives the 2021 HNW “Band 1” distinction, which is the highest individual recognition. It is the fifth consecutive award for the former Attorney General.

Chambers Review: Sean McWeeney, QC, “is a very bright and reputable trusts lawyer”. Described by international peers as by far the best lawyer in The Bahamas for trust and estate matters, including cross-border matters.” A “brilliant” and “leading lawyer”, he is described as having “a distinguished reputation for his work on wealth management, as well as trusts and estates. He is well regarded for his litigious representation, in addition to his advisory practice.”

Tanya Hanna, a Partner and member of the Firm’s Financial Services, Private Client, Trusts and Estates Practice Group, was recognised with the 2021 HNW “Band 2” honour, also making it her fifth such recognition. Tanya is a part of GrahamThompson’s “very deep bench when it comes to trusts work” and is a prominently regarded trusts expert in The Bahamas.

Chambers Review: Tanya Hanna “regularly advises high net worth clients on estate planning, trusts, wills and probate matters. She has further expertise in commercial uses of trusts.”

Ryan Pinder, a Partner and member of the Firm’s Financial Services, Private Client, Trusts and Estates Practice Group, was also awarded the 2021 HNW “Band 2” ranking. The former Minister of Financial Services and Trade, like his GT colleagues, is also a five-time awardee of the recognition.

Chambers Review: Ryan Pinder is distinguished for his handling of “complex wealth planning matters”. Most notably his practice’s “focus on trust and estate structures”. Ryan was also especially noted for his work on “related tax and finance issues. Broadly hailed for his work “in the financial services area”.
