Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – GrahamThompson Partner and head of the firm’s Turks and Caicos Office, Stephen Wilson QC, was one of seven global experts participating in CorporateLiveWire’s 2020 Litigation and Dispute Resolution Virtual Round Table.
The focus of the Round Table was GDPR Compliance. The General Data Protection Regulation is a regulation in European Union (EU) law on data protection and privacy in the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA). Described as “game changing data privacy law”, the regulation took effect May 25, 2018.
Round Table panelists discussed the current legal landscape in their respective jurisdictions, regulatory changes, industry specific trends, cases and other related legal developments. Experts provided insights into their strategies for conflict management and on the factors that influence how they vary litigation strategies from one case to another. They also weighed in on what they believed were the biggest challenges facing the sector today.
Wilson provided a comprehensive look into issues from the Turks and Caicos Islands’ perspective. Other panelists represented perspectives from Australia, Brazil, Nigeria, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
