Freeport, Grand Bahama – GrahamThompson Associate Samuel Brown was a featured panelist at the recent Sustainable Grand Bahama Conference.

Under the subject “Shelter from the Storm: Climatic Adaptations for the Future”, Samuel provided a critical analysis of The Bahamas Building Code, Third Edition – 2003, with emphasis on international standards and current trends. He also offered conference participants recommendations of adaptations for the way forward.

Hosted by the University of The Bahamas’ (UB) Northern Campus, the March 2020 event was just the second, in the annual conference series. This year’s conference theme was “Hurricane Dorian, Reflecting, Re-imagining, Rebuilding”. The conference was held at the Pelican Bay Resort in Grand Bahama.

Samuel is a litigator in GrahamThompson’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group. His practice focuses primarily on corporate and commercial law, banking, admiralty and shipping, arbitration, construction, insurance and employment law, asset recovery, personal injury and contentious real estate.
