GT Turks and Caicos Sponsors Medal Winning Swim Team

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – The 2019 CARIFTA Swim Championships was an especially remarkable meet for the Turks and Caicos Islands’ Swim Team, which secured its first ever medal win, following the silver medal performance by Rohan Shearer in the 50-metre backstroke event.

Graham Thompson’s Providenciales office is a proud sponsor of the swim team, which achieved personal best performances by all eight of its team members.

As the sport continues to excel locally, CARIFTA Committee Member of the Turks and Caicos Swim Federation, Katrina Maclaren says that “the future looks bright”. “TCI swimming” she says “is on a roll now with more swimmers enrolled in competitive, as well as learn-to-swim programs.” Underscoring the collective effort behind the team’s success and the push for further growth in local swimming, Maclaren explained “we are fortunate to have outstanding coaches, teachers, and organizers so that we can build on the momentum to get even more TCI youngsters involved in swimming.”
