Nassau, The Bahamas – The law firm of GrahamThompson congratulates Managing Partner Judith Whitehead, on her appointment as King’s Counsel (KC) January 9, 2023.

A partner at Graham Thompson since 1990, Judith Whitehead was one of the founding members of the firm’s litigation department where she handled a broad range of banking, property, entertainment and family law matters. She became Managing Partner in 1996. In this role she oversees the firm’s operations, providing leadership for the firm’s strategic direction. Her practice focuses on advising the firm’s domestic and international private clients and family offices.

Her career has exemplified excellence in legal services and committed public service; a reflection of the GrahamThompson ethos. She has served the legal sector as an acting Justice of the Supreme Court of The Bahamas and has served on a number of public boards, including Deputy Chairmanships of National Health Insurance Authority and The College of The Bahamas; and memberships on The Bahamas Financial Services Board and the National Women’s Advisory Council. She has also served as a Director of the US-based World Services Group, a network of more than 23,000 professionals across over 150 jurisdictions worldwide. She currently serves on the Board of the Lyford Cay Foundations, Inc and other private boards.

All of Judy’s colleagues at GrahamThompson are, of course, absolutely delighted that she has been appointed King’s Counsel. She has distinguished herself over the course of her many years of practice as one of the leaders of the Divorce & Matrimonial bar of The Bahamas. Her clientele is of the highest quality and her international reputation as both a leading D&M specialist and a top-tier private wealth and estates practitioner of great skill, outstanding integrity, and sophistication has long reflected great credit upon herself, the Bahamian legal profession, and our jurisdiction as a whole.

Judy is entirely deserving of this high honour that has been bestowed upon her. We commend and congratulate her, and wish her every success as King’s Counsel. ” Sean McWeeney KC, Senior Partner, GrahamThompson.
